The Autumn Winter’19 collection, titled Absinthe, is the brands sixth collection. The vibrant green spirit, popularised by the bohemians of the 19th and 20th century which was used as a gateway to escapism, embodies the different characters and sides of the Vali woman and is explored in thebrand’s newest collection. Inspired by the ‘femme fatale’ and female power, their aptly titled Femme Fatale print shown in the brand’s hero Alcapone dress symbolises all these parts. Created in-house,the text found underneath repeated images of a revolver defines ‘woman’ as a force of nature, and ‘weapon’ as an object used to inflict harm. Additionally, inspired by the Parisian dancer, Josephine Baker, the ‘Miss Baker’ print features two re-imagined water coloured Josephine’s dancing back to back, which is found on the brand’s Gin Top and Puma Dress. The green lurex of the Gin and Bonnie dresses are also reminiscent of the shades of green and iridescent shine of the absinthe bottle which are also stand out styles in the collection.
